Argh the abortion debate is raging in Australia again, with Mr Tony "my religion should be forced on everyone" Abbott.

But here is something refreshing.

Go Kerry Nettle! I love that! Get your rosaries off my ovaries! Gold. And better still, it is sponsored by a religious group... just goes to show that you can be religious without just towing the line of the old testament.

But Johnny Howard thinks it was deeply offensive? Hmm. If it had been a T-shirt that has a talking foetus on it saying "God says don't kill me" would it be offensive, because I would certainly find that offensive.

I think it's kind of funny how he says "journalists have encouraged this behaviour"... journos have to report on what happens, and this was something that happened at parliament. Maybe if Howard used what he calls "undergraduate" methods like this the journos would be encouraging him... but oh, hang on a second, he doesn't have to. He has power in the senate and the house of reps... maybe that explains why attention grabbing is necessary for those in the smaller parties to get their point over.
