Been busy
Hmm, I have forgotten to blog lately. I've been quite busy, drinking, organizing stuff for uni and sightseeing.
I went to the markets in the East End of London on Sunday, which was lots of fun, and on Monday I went to the British Museum, which was quite amazing. So huge! Funnily enough, I ran in to a girl from UTS who was in one of my classes last semester! It is a small world after all. Then on Monday night I went to pound a pint at the uni bar, got a bit sloshed, and then there was to be a party afterwards at one of my classmate's houses... but when we all got there, her landlord was waiting at the front door! Eeek! He even called the police! So I came back to halls with Dave and we kind of invited ourselves to another party that was happening at halls, so that was alright.
Then on Tuesday and Wednesday it was all uni stuff and organizing radio stuff. Except I did get a chance to go shopping on Wednesday, and I bought a really cute wrap dress from Monsoon that was reduced from 65 quid to 19 quid so that was excited. I almost blew heaps of money on cute accessories at Topshop but then I reminded myself I could live without them but I couldn't live without food.
I've decided what I am doing for my radio feature... it's going to be about celebrating Waitangi Day (the national holiday in New Zealand) in London. They do a pub crawl around the circle line which should be hilarious, and there is a haka at Westminster at 4pm. The angle I am taking is kind of whether this is an attempt to subvert the colonial power that the treaty of Waitangi is seen by some to stand for. Plus get vox pops from drunk Kiwis. It should be tops. It's on Saturday, so I don't have much time to get organized, but it will be good because if I just spend the whole day doing it I will have nearly enough audio for my story hopefully. Hopefully the weather isn't shit... it's been frightfully cold today, with even a little flutter of snow at lunch time... very little flutter.
Anyway, I should dash and actually write up some of the stuff I have been doing for the travel blog, I have been oh so slack.
