Another weekend rolls by
Another weekend has flown past. It was full of good intentions of things I was going to achieve. However, it mostly consisted of time wasting, delicious sleep ins, stuffing around on the computer, and achieving about a quarter of what I needed to. The location of my computer on my mattress in the following photo should demonstrate my productivity levels.
I went for a couple of walks the past few days. I walked all the way back from uni on both Friday and Saturday to Leichhardt. Apparently according to the road signs, that's a seven kilometre walk. Today I caught the bus in to the city and spent some time being a tourist in Sydney down at Circular Quay. The weather was beautiful today though... two really good things about Australia. One is the weather, two is that our food is so much better than in England. I had forgotten these crucial points.
I hadn't been in to the city yet since coming back so it was good to see the old haunts... I used to see the Bridge every day where I worked last year, so it was nice to hang down at the Quay in the sunshine. And after all my travels I was feeling particularly aware to the plight of the tourist. I spotted a couple trying to take a photo of themselves together in front of the bridge, so I offered my services. I discovered they had not asked someone because they barely spoke the local language. Ah, I know their plight... and I envy them!

Hi There,
I'm not sure if you'll get this message but i would like to gain some insight into Journalism; the courses that will provide an adequate field of experience/recognition to work in that type of field and what everything is all about. (this is for my girlfriend because she wants to do journo)
She looked at the UTS course in Journo and she doesn't personally think she can get 94.6 (2006 cutoff) and shes considering the writing and cultural studies (86; 2006 cutoff). Is this the course she could consider sitting to engage herself in a journalism type career?
If you could, could you get back to me on jaydot[@]gmail[dot]com, thanks alot! (oh btw, i found your blog on boredofstudies :D)
Thanks alot!
