At work again... and Bec Cartwright the writer
I'm at work, listening to my iPod and doing nothing. My boss is away sick and I am waiting for more work to come through but I don't think I will have much to do today. It's kind of good, but kind of annoying at the same time because I still have to write my essay, and I could have bought along my readings to do now, but we are usually busy on Wednesdays so I didn't.
Hahaha drunken blog I wrote last night was funny. Didn't get any of my essay done last night surprise surprise. It was a good night.
I've got so much to do at the moment, but I am coming to the realization that when I drive out of Sydney on Tuesday I won't be coming back until August next year, and it's a new sensation for me.... I am actually going to be homesick for Sydney just as much as my hometown. I'm going to miss my friends here, I'm going to miss my life here. I'm actually going to miss both of these jobs I have had to quit because I actually liked both of them and the people at them. But of course I am really excited about what I have to look forward to in London, I think that I'm just having this feeling because I finally had "settled down" in Sydney and I definately would have been staying here for most of this summer if I wasn't going overseas. Still am yet to see the New Years fireworks in Sydney, I will jot that down on the planner for next year maybe!
Anyway, excited, stressed, dreading impending goodbyes which are bound to be somewhat emotional, excited, can't wait to go, but anxious about having to say goodbye. All in all it's a pretty fun and weird sort of emotional state I am in, but I can't say it's a bad one really.
Anyway, enough musing about life. Here is something absolutely hilarious. This is a particularly golden example of "What the gossip mags say" my absolute favourite column in the SMH.
What the gossip mags say
So funny, especially about Bec cartwright's literary canon. I love this column. It is always a great read, and buying the SMH is heaps cheaper than actually buying any of the gossip mags.
