Finished essay!
Yay! I just finished my essay. Now I can go to pound a pint at the uni bar tonight and feel guilt free. I've actually had to write, and have to write a lot of words this semester.
Media events 1500w essay + 500w project proposal
Political economy 3000w essay
Radio features 3500w critical report
that's what I have done. Plus I made a 10 minute radio feature. And I wrote a 5 minute radio play (1000w)
I still have to do
3000w media events essay
3000w political economy essay
3000w radio drama critical report
plus another radio drama script (1000w) and all of the production and post production for that.
Hmmm. That means I have written 8500 words so far (plus a 10 min radio feature), and I still have 10000 words to go + some technical production until the end of semester. Ick. That's depressing. I think they do more work at uni here... probably because I have to do four subjects to be full time.
OK, lets find something less depressing to talk about. I was all happy about finishing my essay and then I had to start on that junk!
Um, it's funny cos the Queen is in Australia now for the Commonwealth Games, I probably would have had more of a chance of seeing her in Sydney! There was an article here in the Independent on Sunday all about how Melbourne is Australia's sports capital yadda yadda and how the games won't cost much... well, they just had to give away tickets to the opening ceremony. If they can't pull crowds to the opening, it's a bit concerning really. Plus Thorpy isn't in it. So yeah.
I'm getting excited about seeing Europe but I keep adding things I want to see and I doubt I will get to it all. For example, I read a really interesting article about Lithuania... and it's cheap there... plus I have barely seen any of England and the UK so I need to do something about that because that's really slack. This weekend I am definately going away, maybe to Bath and Stonehenge, or maybe to Brighton... or maybe even Edinburgh. I need to figure it all out.
I don't really have anything else to tell. Except I am feeling a bit smart with my pile of media economics textbooks sitting next to me... it's the first time I've borrowed from the library here haha.
