Macbeth and more

Tonight I went and saw the new Australian film Macbeth... we had free media preview screening tix, free movie is always good. I liked the film. It moved Shakespeare's story in to contemporary Melbourne and it is was an interesting adaptation. Very visually based story telling style. It was strange to hear Shakespeare spoken with proper strong Australian accents, everyone normally expects it to be said with a bit of British influence.

Today I was at 2SER working on The Wire. I did a story about the Singaporean government stopping activists from attending a civil society groups forum organized by the World Bank. It was an interesting story, but unfortunately recording someone in Singapore speaking on a mobile phone with a bit of an accent meant the sound quality was poor. You can hear it on The Wire website.

I'm currently listening to Smoke Radio, which has started back up for Freshers Week. It's nice to hear the familiar voices, sounding even more English than I remember, making me remember all the fun we had there. I miss it... but if I didn't miss it, it would mean I hadn't had fun while I was there, so it's an ok payoff.
