The sun is in the sky oh why oh why...

Just been tuning in to Smoke Radio again tonight and they played the Lilly Allen song that goes "the sun is in the sky oh why oh why would I wanna be anywhere else"... that was what the weather was like today, absolutely beautiful. 29 degrees... for the poms, that's a heatwave. In Sydney it's the start of Spring. I walked all the way in to uni (one hour walk) and also back, so lots of walking in the sunshine today. I didn't do much else. A spot of window shopping, listening to my iPod, etc. Mel and I watched High Fidelity tonight on DVD, it was a cool movie.

In the spirit of High Fidelity, here are my top 5 sunshine songs at the moment... I'm not up with what the cool kids are listening to, but yeah.

1. Love Generation (Bob Sinclair)
2. The Car Song (Cat Empire)
3. She moves in her own way (The Kooks)
4. Where did our love go (The Dials)
5. Light surrounding you (Evermore)

I'm also loving my recent Belle and Sebastian purchases, particularly the Dear Catastrophe Waitress CD... Belle and Sebastian were also mentioned in the film! As were the Smiths... another thing I decided I liked while in England.

It's a little bit weird listening to Smoke Radio, seeing everyone on the webcam and talking to everyone on MSN... Australia is so far from everything... sitting in my room that is now heady with the scent of incense and dimly lit by fairy lights while communicating with people who are everywhere but here seriously makes me feel like I am on another planet sometimes. A planet with nice weather though.

I haven't met anyone who doesn't like that Lily Allen track. Even Matthew's a fan and this will probably be the unofficial Freshers theme for 2006!
