Holidays at Home Part 2
Chapter 2- Which Work?
Last night I caught up with old friend Katrina and we chatted over hot chocolate, then the crazy gangsta rapper that is Roz and I went and saw a smokin film called Step Up... it involved a boring white girl meeting a white but black at heart boy falling in love and her tighty whitey dance moves having some flava put on them. Mmm hmm girlfriend. Plot was lacking, dance was plentiful, and laughter insued though usually in parts of the film where the director and scriptwriter probably weren't trying to make the audience laugh.
Anyway, after that we drove around and decided against going out due to packs of males on football trips prowling around the town...
Then I went up the shop with my microphone to try and record some stuff for my radio feature on shift work. But instead I ended up washing dishes until 5am in the morning because it was busy. First hand experience of shift work (something I am very familiar with). No recording done for feature.
Chapter 3- Saturday night in
Everyone else is out and my sister is staying with my nanna so I have the plasma screen, cable tv, dvd player, and whole house to myself. Tonight I watched Dodgeball, Bend it like Beckham, and some doco show on MTV called "Virgin Diaries" where a girl with an uncomprehensible (to me) Manchester accent angsted about her lack of a boyfriend and sexual activity. All Manchester accents are difficult for me to understand, for some reason out of the whole of the UK, Manchester accents (and some thick Scottish accents) are the hardest for me to comprehend.
I am now watching Love Actually. Lovely London-ness... but along with the Virgin Diaries and Bend it like Beckham, it creates a night of rather tragic single female viewing. It's all good though, an indulgence!
And does anyone have an idea for an investigative print feature? The proposal is due on Thursday...

OK, First of all I agree with the Manchester thing, they are hard to understand sometimes but a few viewings of 'Corrie' will put that right - Even the Queen watches it you know ;-) As for the print feature. How about public toliets? Random I know, but still something that we all at some point have used. What do ppl thin of them? Are they old hat or do we still need them? Why are they aways smelly?! - hehe - Not exactly the best one in the world but as least I gave it a go! hehe - Hope your well, Ross xx
